POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) will directly supervise 1 to 25 employees in the Residential Health Service Department who reside within Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot Counties. The RN will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Conduct participant’s initial assessment and identify variables that may affect client’s behavior. 2. Develop caregiver service plan on admission based on the client’s plan of care and participants assessment and updates it every 60 days or as necessary. 3. Provide training to the caregivers according to the participants’ needs. 4. Conduct caregiver assessment on each caregiver at the initial visit and ongoing. 5. Delegate and monitor caretaker tasks. 6. Provide supervision with caregivers present during monthly visit. 7. Perform annual performance evaluation on all licensed nurses and home health aides. 8. Review Medication Administration Report (M.A.R). 9. Insure the client and family’s involvement in the development of the plan of care. 10. Ensure that services needed to facilitate care of the client are being utilized. 11. Ensure that there is optimal standard of nursing care provided. 12. Make sure that a client’s family need is responded to appropriately. 13. Give families a chance to voice complaints and respond appropriately to the resolution of the complaint. 14. Assess nursing/ client interaction and/or client/ family interaction. 15. Assess the environment for safety and cleanliness and make recommendations. 16. Assess infection control practices including proper hand washing. 17. Review the nursing care plan for accuracy, completeness, and make sure it is regularly updated. 18. Makes sure physician’s orders are updated as required and are transcribed properly. 19. Ensure that equipment is being maintained properly. 20. Ensure that necessary supplies are available. 21. Make sure that emergency protocol is in place. 22. Review the communication book for relevant information and proper documentation. 23. Provide family with the agency’s phone numbers for questions or concerns. 24. Participate in quality assurance activities. 25. Evaluate staff performance and update skill validation competency as required by the agency. 26. Be available to the staff for private consultation requiring good nursing judgement. 27. Assist the Human Resource Specialist in maintaining all clinical files on all clients. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of MD. * Minimum of two years’ experience in supervision and administration * Minimum of two years’ experience in home health management * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills including the ability to market and relate tactfully with customers and other members of the community. * Must be licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements. * Criminal Background check * Current CPR & First Aide Certification Benefits * Employee Discounts * Blue Cross Blue Shield: Medical, Dental, Vision * 401k Retirement/ Savings Plan * Flexible Schedules PREFERRED SKILLS * Master’s degree in nursing * Five Years of  management experience in Home Health
