SUMMARY
The Associate Chief Nurse Primary Care provides senior leadership and oversight for daily clinical and administrative operations within nursing as directed by the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS).The Associate Chief Nurse Primary Care functions as an advisor, administrator, educator, consultant, and mentor who possesses a wide range of experience and leadership ability and is responsible for administrative functions of their assigned units/programs.

DUTIES
The Associate Chief Nurse Primary Care has substantial and continuing responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling service-wide infrastructure issues which include overall operation of the service, responding to internal and external communications, maintaining knowledge of and communicating standards of nursing practice and patient care, and developing systems to enhance overall operations and communications within the service. Has significant healthcare center and service policy responsibilities in the development and refinement of processes to meet the needs of the healthcare center. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating programs and outcomes; daily attention to complex personnel management problems; participation in executive level decision making deliberations and; provision of guidance and direction for the development and implementation of established standards of nursing practice.
The Associate Chief Nurse Primary Care supports the integration and collaboration of nursing with other professional disciplines and functional areas in the mutual achievement of patient centered and organizational goals. They champion a High Reliability Organization (HRO) with a lifestyle of safety founded on a systems approach to developing evidence-based health care solutions based on prevention, not punishment, with collective mindfulness. The Associate Chief Nurse Primary Care works effectively with other Associate Chief Nurses and Nurse Managers to ensure clinical oversight for nursing as well as providing essential support for planning and implementing appropriate resource utilization and distribution. The Associate Chief Nurse Primary Care collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network. They work closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
