Description
As a valued member of the Emergency, Medicine and Critical Care healthcare team, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides leadership in the coordination of nursing care for patients with multisystem medical conditions including Diabetes, Dementia, Stroke and Acute Coronary syndromes. In collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and community agencies, the RN provides compassionate and dedicated quality care for patients and their families. In accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards and HHS’ mission, vision and values, the RN improves the health of our patients and residents through evidence-based clinical practice in healthcare delivery. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Recent 3-5 years’ experience in an acute care setting preferred Hamilton Health Sciences’ Critical Practice Orientation (CPO) training or external equivalent required Recent critical care experience preferred Experience and skill in ECG (3 lead and 12 lead) interpretation, hemodynamic pressure monitoring, the care of non-invasive ventilated patients and defibrillation Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, teamwork and leadership skills Knowledge of the nursing care plan and evidence of ability to utilize problem-solving and critical-thinking techniques effectively in acute medical and critical care settings Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and shifting demands Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
