Description
The mission of the Ambulatory Care Department is to deliver comprehensive, compassionate, and quality patient care.  Clinical Assessment & Patient Care * Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments, including physical and mental health evaluations, vital signs, and documentation of presenting concerns. * Monitors psychiatric symptoms and medication side effects and communicates findings to the psychiatric provider. Prior Authorizations * Completes prior authorization requests for behavioral health medications and outpatient/inpatient services, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines. Phlebotomy & Laboratory Coordination * Performs venipuncture and specimen collection for routine labs, including psychotropic drug levels, metabolic panels, and infectious disease screenings. Medication Management Support * Administers intramuscular psychotropic injections and other medications as ordered. * Educates patients and caregivers on prescribed medications, side effects, and adherence strategies. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:   1. Education Required: A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 2. License(s) required: Licensed to practice Professional Nursing in New York State. 3. Experience/Skills              One year Med-Surg experienced required                                                         One-year Ambulatory Care experience required 1. Technical Skills:                    Microsoft applications 2.                                 Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital Orientation Program.                                                                    Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the position.
