JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care by the nature and specific requirements of the department. The care is consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care. We use established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities
  • Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Performs the administration of prescribed medications. Monitors patient for therapeutic response. Notifies provider and intervenes as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Conducts complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments. Ensures patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtains and witnesses consent form.
  • Engages in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensures patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalates care concerns appropriately.
