THE CORE TEAM HAS 3 KEY FUNCTIONS:

  • Providing for those with time-limited disorders who can benefit from specialist interventions.
  • Providing care for individuals with complex and enduring mental health needs.
  • Providing consultation regarding the care of people with mental health problems to other health professionals – in particular advice to GPs and a triage function enabling appropriate referral by GPs seeking a specialist opinion.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Community Mental Health Team provides a comprehensive range of services designed to support recovery and promote sustainable community living for people experiencing mental illness.
The Community Mental Health CORE Team is a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist services to adults living in the community. The CORE Team sits within a broader Community Mental Health Network, which includes a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers, and Peer Support Workers — offering a culturally inclusive and person-centred approach to care. This position is located at Camperdown Community Health Centre, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
