ABOUT THE ROLE
If you have recent experience working in critical care and are looking to try something different that utilises your skills, give this Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) Registered Nurse opportunity your full attention!
You’ll be playing a vital role in managing cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death globally, working in a friendly team which includes a NUM, CNE, cardiac rehabilitation nurse, RNs and radiographers, supporting a medical team of cardiologists and cardiac advanced trainees.
The pace in the Cath Lab is fast, working with a skilled team and cutting edge technology, focusing on diagnosing and treating a wide variety of heart conditions, and performing procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements. Each case requires precise teamwork and quick decision-making and your compassionate care during high-pressure, life-saving procedures makes an immediate impact on the patient’s experience.
You’ll have the opportunity for continuous learning with support from the CNE, as well as a mentor, in-services and hospital-based cardiology education.
Your day typically starts at around 730 am Monday to Friday, and finishes at 1830, ending with reflection and preparation for the next shift. *There is some after hours on call work, including weekends.
This role provides a unique opportunity to try out the Cardiac Cath Lab or to get your foot in the door for a nursing career that may better suit your lifestyle with by and large Monday to Friday daytime work.
