Description Job Summary: Assists in the medical care and treatment of students. In the short or long term absence of the Health and Wellness Director (HWD), may serve as acting Health and Wellness Director. Duties/Responsibilities: Conducts a cursory health evaluation of new students. Includes, but not limiting to: Measures and records student vital signs, conducts hearing and vision screening, obtain and test urine, apply, read, and document results of PPD’s. Performs phlebotomy procedures and collects specimens as required by National Job Corps Protocol. Administers medication, monitors, and follows up to observe students. Reports on adverse reactions to medication to the Health and Wellness Manager (HWM). Assists with scheduling and follow up of medical appointments on center and community appointments. Coordination of Chronic Care Management Plans for students with chronic illnesses Assists HWM with Applicant File Review On-call support required Supports Healthy Eating Active Lifestyles (HEALS) committee and activities. Attends required staff training sessions. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Minimum: High school graduate plus State RN license. Must have active, unrestricted licenses, and work within scope of their license. Preferred: One year nursing experience, plus Job Corps experience desirable. Knowledge: Sound nursing techniques. Ability to relate effectively to student population. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Good organizational skills. Ability to carry out instructions without constant supervision. Must maintain CPR certification.
