Description

We are looking for a skilled, dynamic and energetic Registered Nurses with previous experience to work in the community. Flexible rostering and need to live around the Doonside area.

To be eligible for permanent appointment to this position, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.

  • Must hold a minimum of 1 – 2 years’ of experience
  • Must be able to work across pediatrics
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with no restrictions
  • Current Criminal Record Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Full immunisation history
  • Great communication skills with comforting bedside manner
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work well independently or in a team
  • Commitment to quality patient care
  • Current NSW driver’s license and own vehicle and willing to travel
  • Good computer literacy skills to use email, database and Word for notes
  • Must hold strong medical / general surgical pediatric nursing skills
  • Able to work all shifts and overnight stays
  • General pediatric experience is essential
  • Knowledge of current national standards
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards

Duties

  • Assess children’s needs and provide acute and ongoing care
  • Administer medication and treatments to children
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms or changes in a child’s condition
  • Identify changes in the child and intervene in emergency situations
  • Maintain appropriate privacy and confidentiality in nurse/adult/child relationship
  • Serve as adult and or child advocate
  • Provide Education and information to families
  • Respecting clients and families physical, social, cultural and family choices
  • Support families dealing with a child’s illness or injury
  • Able to evaluate a child for signs and symptoms of abuse
  • Effectively communicate with clients and significant others
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Observe for reactions or side effects
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care plan for client
  • Supervise, coordinate and work in consultation with other health care members

Job Type: Casual
Pay: $50.00 – $60.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Afternoon shift
  • Evening shift
  • Weekends only
