CoreCivic is currently seeking Registered Nurses - Chronic Care who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting. SUMMARY The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements. Provides comprehensive nursing care to detainees with chronic health conditions. Manages long-term health issues, coordinates care plans and ensures adherence to medical protocols within a secure environment. Collaborates with healthcare teams, correctional staff, and external providers to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care that promotes health, safety, and well-being of detainees. Conducts comprehensive health assessments for detainees with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and mental health disorders. Develops and updates individualized care plans based on assessments, medical history, and current health status. Monitors health status and progress regularly, adjusting care plans as needed. Works closely with healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and correctional staff. Communicates effectively with detainees regarding their health and treatment plans. Administers prescribed medications accurately and safely. Educates detainees on medication use, side effects, and adherence importance. Monitors for adverse reactions and reports issues to healthcare providers. Maintains detailed, accurate documentation of all care provided, assessments, and detainee responses. Uses electronic medical records (EMR) systems compliant with correctional health standards. Educates detainees about managing their health and preventing complications. Follows strict infection control protocols. Ensures safe handling of sharps, medications, and biological specimens. Recognizes signs of medical emergencies related to chronic conditions and provides first aid or emergency interventions as needed. Responds to medical emergencies promptly and facilitates timely transfer to external medical facilities when required. Ensures confidentiality and privacy of detainee health information.
