Responsibilities Provide planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process of Assessment, Planning, Intervention, and Evaluation Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff as necessary Communicate changes in patients' clinical conditions with Physicians, Nursing Supervisors/Managers, and co-workers as appropriate Participate in the discharge planning process Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ASN, ADN, BSN, or MSN) MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Previous clinical nursing experience required. Previous CV/Post-Op open heart experience preferred REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse, or Graduate Nurse, Board Eligible. American Heart Association BLS required. Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills Proficiency in clinical, computer, and typing skills Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and healthcare regulations (preferred but not required) ABOUT OAKBEND: OakBend Medical Center is an independent hospital that has been providing exceptional and compassionate care to patients and the community since 1950.
