Operating within a multidisciplinary treatment team, the RN plays a critical role in promoting a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment across inpatient detoxification and behavioral health residential settings. This position requires clinical excellence, strong assessment skills, and a commitment to regulatory compliance and quality care delivery. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct ongoing patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and respond to changes in condition to ensure delivery of high-quality, individualized care Observe, evaluate, and communicate patient status, symptoms, and progress to providers and interdisciplinary team members Collaborate with clinical, medical, and behavioral health staff to support individualized treatment planning and continuity of care Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, medication administration (including injections), phlebotomy, blood glucose monitoring, urine specimen collection, and accurate clinical documentation Administer and adjust medications in accordance with provider orders and established protocols Implement and monitor detoxification protocols as prescribed by the provider Maintain a safe and sanitary environment through adherence to infection control standards, including proper cleaning and decontamination of equipment and surfaces Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate intervention in accordance with facility protocols Supervise LPN staff during assigned shifts, including review and sign-off of assessments requiring RN oversight Ensure accurate medication administration, documentation, and compliance monitoring Maintain strict accountability and documentation for controlled substances in accordance with federal and state regulations Assess patient response to treatment and collaborate with the care team to evaluate progress and adjust care as needed Foster a supportive, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients and their families Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and clinical standards Report incidents, concerns, and situations requiring escalation to the Nursing Director and Executive Director in a timely manner Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and required trainings, including monthly nursing meetings Coordinate and facilitate communication with external healthcare providers to support seamless continuity of care QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and Skills Required Valid CPR and CPI certifications or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire Level one fingerprint clearance card Preferred: Experience in substance abuse or behavioral health or detox treatment setting. Will consider new graduates. Associates Degree in Nursing If candidate self-disclosed in sobriety – Buena Vista requires 1 year of continuous sobriety Educational Requirements Current valid RN License in the state of Arizona with no restrictions Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. In a 12-hour work day: standing/walking up to 12 hours per day Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals You must have the ability to use tools and equipment required for the position Mental Focus: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
