JOB TITLE: Staff RN, Emergency Department REPORTS TO: Director of Emergency Department POSITION SUMMARY: This job may require the employee to be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care of patients of all ages, including neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient’s self-report or behavior and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient. Performs all other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred, BSN preferred. Minimum of two years of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a current California RN license and BLS certification. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change, PALS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change, and Violence Prevention & De-Escalation certification required within 90 days of hire or status change. CEN preferred. 
Responsibilities
