Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital St John of God Midland Hospital is one of our busiest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of services. In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, accelerated environment that requires adapting very quickly to urgent and emergency situations and thriving on the unpredictability of the department. Our accident and emergency department consists of 48 clinical treatment bays, three resuscitation bays and a separate four-bed paediatric assessment unit, last year we recorded over 77,500 presentations to the department. Our accident and emergency department nurses are supported by our medical teams to be able to make quick and skilled clinical decisions fostering a strong alliance between doctors and nurses. The Position Assess plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required. Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital. Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate. Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and preceptoring staff. Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives. You will hold registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, a demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills. To succeed you will have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Minimum 12-month experience in ED required. Above all, patients will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
