Description
Synopsis To provide nursing support to Etihad Airways Medical Centre (EAMC) for the General, Aviation and Occupational Health Department(s). To supervise assigned team members and assist in training of new nursing staff. Accountabilities 1. The registered nurse supports the Physician in the performance of medical fitness examinations for aviation and occupational pre-employment, Initial and renewal medicals and for general consultations as per regulators standard policies and procedures by conducting e.g. vital signs, vision test, ECG, audiogram, tympanometry, spirometry, height and weight, BMI, vaccinations etc. 2. To prepare and maintain patient medical records with confidentiality as per EAMC, General Civil Aviation Authority UAE (GCAA), Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH), Occupational Safety and Health Abu Dhabi (OSHAD) and other regulators; ensure that flight crew and cabin crew medical examination records are complete with vaccination profile, sickness reports and alcohol and drugs check records. 3. To ensure all medical equipment is calibrated and maintained in good working order prior to its use, immediately report equipment malfunction to the Nurse Manager and remove from use until repaired by biomedical engineers. 4. Maintain aseptic standards and general cleanliness of the EAMC in accordance with EAMC policy and infection control best practice and report any breaches in policy to Infection Control team. 5. To carry out daily/weekly/monthly checks on the various medical supplies required to ensure sufficiency and for the safe functioning of the Medical Centre e.g. the supplies of emergency drugs, emergency crash cart, and other medical supplies. 6. To provide support to Nurse Managers as required in addition to EAMC programs such as health education lectures, forums, events, campaigns, etc. and participate as necessary 7. To maintain current records of competency in all nursing procedures carried out and develop and review nursing policies and procedures in accordance with DOH, GCAA, OSHAD and best practice standards Education & Experience Registered Nurse (RN) with BSc. Degree / Diploma in Nursing Minimum 7 years' experience as registered nurse with UAE DOH / DHA License in a large hospital or medical centre.
