RN Float Full Time Nights Commitment Bonus: $20,000 Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Performs House Supervisor responsibilities as needed to meet the needs of the facility. Delegate and coordinated nursing care throughout the hospital and ensures that quality nursing care is delivered. Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing Required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred License: Current RN to practice in the state of Kentucky or a current multistate license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS per unit specific requirements within 90 days of hire. Required Skills 2 years of acute care nursing required. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action Essential Functions Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Non-Essential Functions 1. Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors. 2. Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information. 3. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices. 4. Perform other duties as assigned.
