POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our inpatient care team. The RN will provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care to children, youth, and families in a supportive and therapeutic environment. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care while working collaboratively with an interprofessional team.
Status: Full-Time Permanent
Hours: 36 to 48 hours weekly
Schedule: Fixed shifts — Days: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM / Nights: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing, no restrictions).
  • Current HCP-level CPR certification.
  • Evidence of recent continuing education or professional development (mental health focus preferred).
  • Experience managing clinical situations involving disturbed or high-risk behaviours.
  • Previous experience in mental health or psychiatric care is an asset.
  • Strong ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Resilience and capacity to manage stressful environments in a positive and professional manner.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care for a diverse population.
  • Perform assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate interprofessional care plans for clients with a wide range of diagnoses.
  • Apply critical thinking and therapeutic approaches in all aspects of care.
  • Monitor and assess the physical and medical status of patients across acute and transitional care units.
  • Respond to medical and psychiatric needs in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Provide nursing assessments and interventions, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation.
  • Contribute to a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.
