Patients may have multiple medical co-morbidities and are admitted for end of life care, symptom management, complex discharge planning and occasional respite. Care and discharge planning is provided by an inter-disciplinary team. The unit is a new, purpose built development set against a picturesque backdrop of the Yarra river and bush surrounds in Kew. Duties include:- Demonstrate a person centred approach in all aspects of daily nursing practice Demonstrate active pursuit of professional development relating to Palliative Care, and areas pertinent to nursing Complete all competencies as directed by the Nurse Unit Manager achieving 100% Act as a role model and support junior staff in all clinical aspects Mentor and preceptor new staff, nursing graduates and undergraduates Liaise with patients, cargivers, medical and ancillary staff as required or requested Accurately document patient care in accordance with hospital guidelines Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).
