Unit Summary Interventional Radiology supports a high volume of diverse adult and pediatric patients and families, providing service within Radiology, CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound and Interventional. Most areas within this Unit function 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Position Summary As a member of a Multidisciplinary Health Care team, the Registered Nurse coordinates, performs and evaluates interventional radiology examinations and provides patient care to meet the clients and family needs with the core values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability. Guides and directs clinical and technical associates in a teaching and research environment and functions independently with diverse & complex patient population and procedures in all area of Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Services. Rotation though all modalities and sites based on qualifications and unit requirements maybe required. Schedule Work Hours days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays (standby as required) 1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse 2. Current BCLS registration 3. PACU and/or assessment component of the critical care course 4. Current PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) or willingness to certify if applying at a site which specializes in paediatric patients 5. Portocath and Central Line Access certified 6. Recent (within 2 years) experience in critical care or emergency room nursing 7. Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills 8. Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced clinical environment 9. Evidence of participation in on going education & professional development 10. Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment 11. Interventional and angiography experience preferred
