Description
As a member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures quality and appropriateness of care for patients of all age groups according to the job description and Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses in Ontario. The Registered Nurse demonstrates an ability to incorporate knowledge of patient's age, growth and development level in the provision of care. 1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse 2. Current BCLS certification 3. Two years experience within the past three years in an Urgent Care, Emergency or Critical Care setting 4. Proven proficiency in a current triage standards for adults and children preferred 5. Proven ability to work in a high volume, high turnover environment 6. Demonstrated current knowledge of rapid assessment and management in broad range of disease process 7. Demonstrated knowledge of the community resources, regional programs and the Patient Priority System 8. Demonstrated expertise in a physical assessment, 12 Lead ECG monitoring, health teaching, and clinical decision making 9. Demonstrated current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory arrest procedures and competency in critical practice 10. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and community resources 11. Demonstrated well developed leadership ability, excellent organizational and critical thinking skills 12. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, maintenance of critical care skills and participation in ongoing continuing education in an Emergency Department 13. ACLS, PALS preferred
