Description
As a member of a Multidisciplinary Health Care team, the Registered Nurse coordinates, performs and evaluates pre, post and intraprocedural care for Interventional Radiology, and Services requiring Pediatric sedation. Pediatric sedation is provided to a wide variety of complex services including Diagnostic Imaging, Hematology, Plastics and Oncology. Providing patient care to meet the clients and family needs with the core values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability. The RN guides and directs clinical and technical associates in a teaching and research environment and functions independently with diverse & complex patient population and procedures in these areas. Rotation though all modalities and sites based on qualifications and unit requirements is required. 1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse 2. Current BCLS registration 3. Interventional Radiography, Critical Care, PACU, and/or Emergency Room experience required (within 5 years). Pediatric experience required, Adult experience preferred 4. Critical Care Certificate: Preferred. Previous CPO Certified, preferred 5. Current PALS (Paediatric Advanced Life Support) or PEARS (Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition) preferred or willingness to certify if applying at a site which specialized in paediatric patients 6. Advanced EKG monitoring skills 7. Portocath and Central Line Access certification preferred 8. Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills 9. Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced clinical environment 10. Evidence of participation in on going education & professional development 11. Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment
