This role is ideal for someone who is committed to delivering outstanding patient-centred care and supporting individuals to maintain a high quality of life in their own homes. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care. We’re looking for a highly skilled RGN with proven experience in managing patients with multiple comorbidities, long-term health conditions, and a range of complex care needs.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent competency assessment skills, with the ability to evaluate and support the ongoing development of care staff all while upholding full compliance with NMC standards and best clinical practice. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough staff competency assessments and create tailored development plans to support clinical growth and maintain high care standards. Lead holistic care planning, using comprehensive patient assessments and evidence-based practices to deliver personalised, high-quality care. Coordinate complex care delivery across multidisciplinary teams, working closely with Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to ensure seamless, integrated support.
Act as a key liaison for families, providing clear, compassionate communication and emotional support throughout the care journey. Oversee staff scheduling and resource allocation, ensuring appropriate coverage and continuity of care at all times. Drive clinical quality and safety through regular audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving outcomes. Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings, building and maintaining strong working relationships with external agencies, care providers, and regulatory bodies.
Essential Requirements Current NMC registration with substantial clinical experience in complex care settings, including managing patients with long-term conditions and multiple comorbidities. Proven leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and support the professional development of nursing and care staff. Strong competency in workforce planning, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring adequate clinical coverage. Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and providing clear, empathetic liaison with families.
Experienced in staff competency assessment, with the ability to deliver constructive feedback and develop tailored training and improvement plans. Key clinical skills: Proficient and confident in managing PEG feeding, tracheostomy care, and Cough Assistthese are essential for the role
