ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Live and work on the iconic Northern Beaches of Sydney at NBH! We are seeking enthusiastic and clinically experienced nurses who are passionate about patient care to join our ICU team. We offer state of the art equipment in world class facilities, utilising EMR (electronic medical records) and MEDCHART (medication management/administration) systems. We are inclusive with diverse and friendly teams, with options for flexible shifts so you can achieve the balance you desire.
Located on the first floor, NBH’s ICU has 20 beds. It is a general Intensive Care Unit catering for the needs of the area with key specialities including cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, general surgery as well complex medical cases. We also provide specialist care for patients admitted through the hospital’s busy emergency department, and play a key role in the hospital’s Clinical Emergency Response team.
We are currently looking for motivated, enthusiastic experienced ICU nurses to provide expert nursing care to complex patients. You will be a pro-active team player, with demonstrated ability and desire to be part of a dynamic work force, mentor junior staff and participate in quality improvement. Although a rotational 24/7 roster is in place, we offer flexible self-rostering and 12 hour shifts.
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is dedicated to caring for patients with life-threatening illnesses and complications, and for monitoring potentially life-threatening conditions. It provides special expertise and facilities for the support of vital functions, using the skills of medical, nursing and allied teams.
The Unit offers a full range of intensive care services to all patients, including:
The ICU can support all medical and surgical services delivered within the hospital with a full range of intensive care equipment and the latest monitoring and ventilation systems.
