Description Summary Under the direct supervision of the physician, safely performs a range of clinical duties and provides support to the physician in the practice. Responsibilities Participates and assists the physician in the provision of medical care, including: Taking the patient’s history Assessing the patient Assisting with examinations, treatments, injections, infusion therapy, etc. Preparing equipment and other medical devices, as needed Performs ancillary functions such as: Gathering and managing necessary documents (e.g. medical record, test results) Coordinating physician’s phone calls, as needed Modifying/coordinating schedule(s), as needed Facilitating/Completing paper work, as needed Acting as liaison between the physician and patient Assisting in the stocking of clinical supplies within the patient care areas Assuring proper operation of equipment and medical devices Following up as needed to obtain or repair equipment and medical devices Maintains cleanliness of the patient care areas Educates patients Assists in the education of patients in regards to their condition, physician orders, treatment plans, etc. Participates in the Safety Program through education and implementation of practices to facilitate a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Completes other duties and assignments as directed by the Physician and Practice Administrator. Requirements Qualifications Must be licensed in Illinois as a Registered Nurse Minimum of 2 years experience in nursing, preferably in a physician office setting. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing. Must be physically able to assist patients during ambulation and examination. Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
