Managed by United Surgical Partners International & Joint Commission Accredited North Central Surgical Center is looking for an experienced and Imaging Nurse for our Imaging Department. Under the direction of the Director of Imaging and with a dotted line reporting to the Clinical Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse - Imaging provides comprehensive nursing care to ensure that patient care services are delivered in accordance with the hospital’s mission, vision, and goals. The role involves patient care before, during, and after imaging procedures, including medication administration, monitoring, and education, and recovery. The RN is also responsible for upholding professional standards and compliance with regulatory guidelines, including those set by the state board of nursing, American Nurses Association, American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses, the Association for Radiologic & Imaging Nursing, and The Joint Commission. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30a - 5p. * Plan and prepare for the preadmission of patients, including medical and medication history reviews. * Coordinate patient care by performing pre-procedure assessments and post-procedure follow-ups. * Administer and monitor sedation and analgesic medications, ensuring patient safety. * Provide patient education regarding imaging procedures and expectations. * Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process. * Monitor patients for contrast reactions and intervene as needed, ensuring proper treatment. * Ensure radiological safety by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining patient and staff safety in all imaging modalities. * Perform lab work and start IVs as needed for pre-procedure screening and during procedures. * Monitor and maintain emergency equipment in the Imaging Department, reporting any issues promptly. * Serve as a resource for radiology technologists, providing guidance and support as necessary. * Document all nursing care and patient responses accurately, ensuring compliance with policies and  standards. * Act as a patient advocate, addressing both physical and psychological needs. * Follow physician orders effectively and safely in accordance with nursing standards. * Integrate and coordinate care across settings and disciplines to provide comprehensive care. * Assist with reviewing and updating department policies and procedures as needed. * Perform effectively under stressful situations, ensuring patient care and safety. * Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives as applicable. * Perform all other duties as assigned
