Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person centred care and work in collaboration with students/families/carers and a multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and outcomes. South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is focused on achieving our Vision of Leading Care, healthier communities.
The Public Health Unit’s-Immunisation nurse will implement the public health immunisation response across the South Western Sydney Local health District, including the delivery of the Adolescent School Based Immunisation Program in line with Health Protection NSW protocols as well as other public health immunisation programs as required. The RN will be responsible for cold chain audits, management and advice as well as immunisation catch up advice and general information to immunisation providers, parents, teachers and the general public. As well as immunising people, the RN will be required to lead a team in clinics in various locations. The RN will be responsible for the monitoring, evaluation, review and implementation of strategies to optimise immunisation coverage for all vaccine preventable diseases.
