Description
The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide highly competent, compassionate critical care to critically ill or injured patients. You will work within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team of physicians, pulmonologists, and allied health professionals to manage complex medical/surgical conditions, continuous life support, and cardiothoracic cases.   Key Responsibilities * Patient Monitoring: Continuously observe and track vital signs, hemodynamic status, and neurological responses. * Critical Interventions: Administer high-risk medications, manage ventilators and cardiac monitors, and assist physicians with invasive, bedside procedures. * Care Planning: Develop and execute individualized care plans in collaboration with the medical team. * Advocacy & Communication: Act as a patient advocate while providing empathetic support and clear updates to family members.   Qualifications * Education: Associate Degree (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). * Licensure: Valid and unencumbered Registered Nurse License to work in the State of Virginia. * Experience: Minimum of 1 year of bedside acute care hospital experience. Previous Critical Care/ICU or cardiothoracic experience is strongly preferred. * Certifications: * Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. * Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for critical care within 90 days to 1 year of hire.
