QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registration as a Registered Nurse with CARNA or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with CRPNA.
  • Must demonstrate a good knowledge of nursing theory and practices within a continuing care environment.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership, motivation and innovation within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member with management and other Staff in providing care for and meeting the needs of Residents, and communicating effectively with their families and the public

Responsibilities

MAINTAINS ROLE AS A TEAM LEADER

  • In accordance with the Case Manager; directs, supervises, and evaluates the work of Health Care Aides and LPN’s assigned to their unit.
  • Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Care/ designate.
  • Participates in the orientation of new staff, as required.

ACCOUNTABLE FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Reports unsafe, hazardous working conditions and any equipment malfunctions to Supervisor, Clinical Team Leader/ Director.
  • Understands and adheres to health and safety responsibilities as outlined in the corporate health and safety policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
