12 Hour Shifts, Days and Nights Schedule (Subject to Change)
Location: Lakeridge Health Oshawa
Wage Schedule: $39.070 - $56 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);
  • Current B.C.L.S.
  • Interest in the practice of Gerontology nursing, knowledge of Discharge Planning and ability to function independently in a total patient care environment;
  • B.Sc.N. and/or Gerontology Certificate is preferred;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of nursing skills as listed in the CNO “Standards on Nursing Practice”;
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and teaching skills;
  • Demonstrated judgement, good observation and patient assessment skills, tact and empathy;
  • Able to perform appropriately in emergency situations;
  • Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids;
  • Able to assume a leadership/supervisory role;
  • Able to foster good public relations and effective working relationships in a family centered care environment;
  • Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health’s comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area.
Responsibilities

To use nursing process in providing patient care. To participate as a member of the Health Care Team and the Nursing Team.
