Days, Nights, Weekends; 12 Hour Shifts (Subject to Change)
Location: Lakeridge Health Ajax-Pickering
Wage Schedule: $39.070 - $56 per hour

This position is open to all qualified ONA staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 26 June 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 4 July 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level;
  • Current surgical nursing experience strongly preferred;
  • Health assessment course or equivalent experience;
  • Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;
  • Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement;
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development;
  • Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public;
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;

Responsibilities

Reporting to Manager of Inpatient Surgical, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary environment. You will provide care to a post-surgical adult patient population with a broad spectrum of medical diagnoses, including Palliative care.
