FMHS provides specialist mental health services to people in the ACT who are involved in, or at-risk people of becoming involved in, the criminal justice system. FMHS operates across a range of settings including custody, secure inpatient facilities, ACT law courts, and the community. FMHS is seeking highly motivated Registered Nurses (Level 2) to join our custodial mental health team operating within the ACT’s two correctional centres. Registered mental health nurses bring strong clinical assessment and intervention skills to ensure that people in custody experiencing mental ill-health are afforded the same quality of care they would receive in the community. Registered nurses working in custodial settings must be adaptable and flexible, able to communicate with influence, and be passionate about working with vulnerable populations.
