Description Registered Nurse | LPN Reports to: Director of Nursing Job Category: Hourly | Non-Exempt | Full-Time | Part-Time Salary: $30-$46/hour (Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience and license) Job Site: Foundry - Ranch (Steamboat Springs, CO) Job Summary: The RN or LPN is responsible for assessing patient health problems, administering nursing care to patients, maintaining vital medical records, implementing nursing care plans, and advising patients on health maintenance. Education and Experience: Current, unrestricted nursing license in Colorado (registered with DORA). RN, LPN Diploma, Associates, or Bachelors in Nursing. Two plus years of clinical nursing experience preferred. Psychiatric and/or substance abuse experience preferred. Required Skills/Abilities: Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Ability to be compassionate to those needing and receiving services. Clinical charting and documentation according to JCAHO and BHA standards. Familiarity with or ability to learn organization’s systems including EMR database. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Impeccable ethics, integrity, and customer relations skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills. Sound medical judgment and decision making skills. On-call availability. Duties/Responsibilities: Provide direct care to clients, including addressing medical concerns, monitoring vitals and overseeing withdrawal symptoms. Oversee the detoxification process according to a Provider’s orders which includes providing the addiction technicians with supervision, direction, and support regarding a person’s withdrawal process. Supervise the Monitoring of Medications: obtain orders from the physician, place all orders in the Kipu (EMR) system, verify all medications brought in, confirm medication counts weekly, order medications as needed, including PRN Medications, and approve PRN medications with the parameters the Medical Director has set. Dispose of expired and discontinued medications and prescriptions. Dispose of expired OTC medications. Implement Provider orders. Obtain urine and blood samples. Assist with admissions: complete medical screening, aid with search of belongings, and schedule provider to see the person. Observe and assess physical and health changes. Keep Medical team updated about any medical issues clients may experience. Assist with and keep accurate records according to state regulations and The Joint Commission. Update service plan with medical and psychiatric areas being addressed. Orient client regarding any medical orders obtained, including how to use BioSound, BioMat, and AlphaStim, as well as how Vivitrol can be helpful. Complete Vivitrol patient enrollment form, follow up on prescriptions as necessary, administer injection as ordered. Complete detox admission/discharge summary and RTC/PHP discharge summary as indicated by level of care. Dispose of biohazard waste and medications as required by OSHA. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to navigate uneven terrain and access multiple buildings on site. Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times. Climbing stairs, bending, reaching, sitting, standing. Exposure to clinical and medical environment. Driving in all weather conditions.
