Description

OVERVIEW:

AMGH is seeking qualified registered nurses to support efforts for additional staffing. We are looking for multiple part-time registered nurses to join the Med/Surg/ICU team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current registration and certification of competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Undergraduate degree in Nursing preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course
  • Recent 12-lead Interpretation course
  • NIH Stroke Scale/Score (NIHSS) certification
  • Code White certification
  • Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) medical/surgical-related nursing experience
  • Experience in the following skills: chest tubes, arterial lines, central lines, intubation, invasive ventilation, non-invasive mechanical ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP), pain and sedation assessment/intervention.

ABILITIES:

  • Excellent physical head-to-toe assessment skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret normal/abnormal telemetry and cardiac monitoring
  • Ability to manage a variety of acute patient conditions
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care
  • Good attendance and work record is essential
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and efficient decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
