Description Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a permanent opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurologic conditions. This unit supports general, urology, and vascular post-surgical patients in a Level I Trauma facility caring for stable but higher-acuity Med/Surg patients. The role offers strong clinical exposure and opportunities to expand skills, including patient monitoring, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. The Med/Surg RN performs comprehensive nursing assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and delivers direct patient care while supervising non-licensed staff within scope of practice. This position requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following standards of care and disease-specific protocols Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and resource utilization Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff in accordance with policy Educate patients and families using age-appropriate, culturally sensitive approaches Provide emotional support and integrate patient and family teaching into daily care Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care COMPENSATION: Hourly Pay Range (based on experience): Mid Range: $30.04 – $41.50 per hour Shift Differentials: $4.00/hour for nights $4.00/hour for weekends Relocation Assistance: Case by case Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) required. Minimum of 1 year of Acute Care RN experience required (does not need to be recent). Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or BSN. Active RN license in the state of practice or valid multistate compact license. Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
