Description

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Registered Nurse position in the Medical/Surgical department.
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital offers 30 acute care medical/surgical beds. An interdisciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Physicians, Pharmacists, Registered Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and many volunteers care for patients here.
At Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital we believe in a Home First Philosophy. Our team will work with you to get you home at the most appropriate time. Together with the South West LHIN Home and Community Care Coordinators, we can arrange programs to ensure a successful transition from hospital to home.
Our Palliative Care support, which is part of our medicine program, offers care focused on the quality of life of patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness, through the prevention, assessment and treatment of pain and other physical, psychological and spiritual issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Nurse with a current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum 1 year recent Medical/Surgical experience is preferred.
  • Must possess current Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS).
  • Well-developed patient assessment, intervention and evaluation skills.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize patient care needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to function productively in a very demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to function productively as a team member in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the usage of various programs such as Cerner, Powerchart and Microsoft Office.
  • Skilled with the interaction of patients and families to provide patient focused, goal oriented care.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to Privacy and Confidentiality.
  • Excellent attendance record and work ethics in previous positions.
  • Proven experience working in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with a patient centered focus.
  • Ability to fulfil full time commitment of 12 hour shifts.

Other pertinent conditions:

  • Salary per the ONA collective agreement ($39.07 per hour to $56.00 per hour)
