Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) on the Mobile Medical Unit will provide high-quality nursing care under the supervision of a medical provider. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, administering treatments, educating patients, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive care to underserved populations. It is a full-time position on a mobile medical unit. Conduct thorough patient intakes, including medical history, substance use history, vital signs, and initial screenings based on established screening criteria Performs comprehensive and focused physical assessments according to established guidelines Obtain/perform point of care and laboratory testing according to standing orders Administer/dispense medication for treatment of communicable diseases and/or vaccination for prevention of communicable diseases according to standing orders. Identify and properly document patient needs and concerns in the Electronic Medical Record, referring complex cases to the Clinical Director as needed. Communicate promptly and effectively with the Clinical Director or other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care. Assists patients with appropriate referrals, patient assistance programs, prior authorizations, and coordinate acquisition of certain medications with specialty pharmacy and/or manufacturer. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery in the mobile unit. Prepare and maintain the mobile unit's clinical environment, ensuring supplies and equipment are stocked and sterile. Perform quality checks on medical equipment and supplies, including maintaining temperature logs. Engage in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new developments. Participate in community outreach programs to promote the mobile unit's services.
