We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our inter-disciplinary professional team delivering exceptional assessment and treatment for our patients participating in clinical research trials.

As part of the clinical research team, you will facilitate the conduct of clinical research involving human subjects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • A member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Proof of Professional Liability Protection (PLP) as per the CNO
  • Current BCLS
  • Phlebotomy certification/experience is an asset

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient recruitment, screening, enrollment, and retention of eligible patients
  • Medical history and concomitant medication history collection by patient interview and review of medical records.
  • Documentation of protocol deviations, Adverse Events (AEs), Severe Adverse Events (SAEs) and may assist with submission to IRB/REB and/or federal regulators
  • Vital signs measurements (blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate and temperature) with use of manual devices.
  • Study drug accountability, preparation and dispensing
  • Study drug administration (topical, oral, injection ect)
  • Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet generation and organization
  • Organizing and maintaining storage room
  • Arranging for courier delivery of specimens
  • Inventory check and ordering of supplies
  • Some occasional travel for study training will also be required, once a year (possibly outside of Canada – passport required)
  • Phlebotomy (blood draw) and laboratory sample processing
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) collection
  • Pulmonary function tests, spirometry, and serial spirometry testing. Post spirometry testing
  • Allergy testing
  • Having a good understanding and certification of the Health Canada Division 5 of the Food, ICH-GCP, and IATA shipping regulations
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date Case Report Forms in an accurate and prompt manner while performing routine data verification and quality control
  • Prepare schedule of visits required and book appointments accordingly to assure compliance of protocol
