Description Registered Nurse (RN) – Adolescent Behavioral Health Location: Petaluma, CA Schedule: Monday-Wednesday & Friday | 7:30 AM-6:00 PM Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Pay: $65.00-$70.00 per hour Make a Difference Every Day Muir Wood Adolescent & Family Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our residential treatment team in Petaluma. We provide evidence-based mental health and substance use treatment for adolescents ages 12-17 in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. As an RN, you will play a key role in ensuring the medical safety and well-being of our clients while collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to deliver exceptional care. What You'll Do Complete nursing assessments and medical screenings for new admissions. Assess, monitor, and document clients' medical conditions throughout treatment. Administer medications safely while monitoring effectiveness and potential side effects. Maintain medication inventory, storage, controlled substance logs, and documentation in compliance with California regulations. Collaborate with psychiatrists regarding medication management and treatment planning. Coordinate medical appointments, laboratory testing, and specialty referrals. Educate clients and families on medications, wellness, and health-related topics. Administer TB testing and other required health screenings. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and nursing documentation. Order and maintain medical supplies and equipment. Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings. Respond appropriately to medical emergencies while maintaining a therapeutic environment. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, Title 22 regulations, and organizational policies. Requirements Required Qualifications Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current CPR/BLS certification. Ability to successfully complete DOJ/FBI background clearance. TB clearance and pre-employment health screening. Excellent clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sound clinical judgment. Must be able to work the assigned schedule: Monday-Wednesday and Friday, 7:30 AM-6:00 PM. Preferred Qualifications One (1) or more years of RN experience. Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, residential treatment, adolescent health, pediatrics, or substance use treatment. Experience with psychiatric medication management. Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR). Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform nursing duties throughout the shift. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to respond quickly during emergencies. Required Training Meet California Title 22 Personnel Requirements. Complete required onboarding and annual training (paid by Muir Wood).
