Description
The Registered Nurse will work as part of the interdisciplinary team within the McMaster Children's Hospital Program with specific responsibility within the Neonatal Transport. 1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse 2. Advanced Module in Neonatal Care 3. NRP Certification, Instructors preferred 4. Recent (minimum of 1 year within the last 2 years) experience as an Assistant Transport Nurse on the Neonatal Transport Team or previous experience as a Transport Nurse 5. Demonstrated experience and ability in teaching utilizing adult learning principles 6. Demonstrated exceptional assessment and critical thinking skills and the ability to manage rapid changes in a patients condition 7. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill newborns and their families within the neonatal unit and community settings 8. Demonstrated excellent communication, teamwork and conflict management skills 9. Demonstrated ability to perform well in critical high stress situations 10. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development 11. Current BCLS certification and Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred 12. Previous leadership experience preferred
