We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care HUB team at Lithgow Hospital. This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal outcomes for patients, clients, and their carers through the promotion of best practice and the appropriate escalation of care when needed.
As a Registered Nurse, you will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary health team, using effective communication to plan, implement, assess, and evaluate patient care. You will act as an advocate for the diverse needs of all patients and clients, including those from Indigenous and multicultural backgrounds, ensuring culturally sensitive and appropriate care, particularly for those undergoing specialised procedures.
Professionalism is at the heart of this role. You will be expected to maintain and promote high standards of ethical nursing practice, adhering to the policies and procedures of the Nursing Service, Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD), and all relevant legislation and statutory regulations.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will provide support and mentorship to staff and students, fostering a positive learning environment. You will also be responsible for managing resources effectively to support the delivery of high-quality care.

Responsibilities
  • Current registration as Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in critical care nursing as a registered nurse (including completion of a new graduate program or equivalent experience working as a registered nurse)
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and evidenced based practice
  • Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster including day, evening and night shift according to the unit/service requirements
