NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health center’s. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person’s needs.
We are seeking a dedicated mental health clinician to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based clinical services to individuals experiencing mental illness or mental disorders. The role emphasizes a least-intrusive, recovery-oriented approach that is collaborative, rehabilitative, and inclusive of nominated carers and families. The successful candidate will promote self-advocacy, empowerment, and the development of capacity for optimal independent functioning, while ensuring care is responsive to individual needs and aligned with best-practice standards.

Responsibilities
  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and including eligibility for membership of relevant professional body & full registration with AHPRA (including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse)
  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills
  • Computer competence and literacy
  • Current NSW drivers license and willingness to use it for work purposes
