Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Be responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
  2. Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment. They will work with a team of physicians and other health care specialists or allied health in various settings.
  3. Perform systematic patient assessment, re-assessment and collect pertinent data about the patient’s health or situation.
  4. Understand and analyse the assessment information and data.
  5. Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  6. Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care.
  7. Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient and patient's bystanders.
  8. Record vital signs, recognize, address and escalate all abnormalities.
  9. Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice.
  10. Employ strategies to promote patients’ health and a safe environment.
  11. Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations.
  12. Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Paediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation etc.
  13. Prepare patients for medical examination and treatment.
  14. Administer medications and monitor patients for any side effects and reactions.
  15. Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor patients for any reactions.
  16. Provide wound care management.
  17. Assist in medical procedures invasive or non-invasive as needed.
  18. Facilitate the process of safe patient`s admission, transfer and discharge.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Essential: the post holder must
    • Holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution in their home country.
    • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including recent assignment within an hospital.
    • Have an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all the qualifications and experience these mandates.
    • Minimum of 02 years work experience in Emergency Department.
    • Manage their own professional re-licensure.
    • Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
    • Be willing to work across departments when necessary. 
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written)

  • DESIRABLE: The post holder should have:
