Description Registered Nurse RN - Full Time Days - INTERNAL POSTING ONLY Position Summary Provides standard primary medical care, instruction in self-care, health education, and preventative health care within the limits of licensure, training and experience. Performs examinations, procedures under the supervision of the preceptor. Essential Functions Elicits and records complete medical history associated with the current complaint or symptoms. Obtains a past medical history, current medications list, and family medical history. Performs physical examination of systems involved and any associated systems. Orders appropriate laboratory testing, x-rays, ultrasound, and other tests as indicated. Performs laboratory procedures as indicated by clinical situation. These may include complete urinalysis, blood glucose by glucometer, wet mounts, hemoccult testing, strep screens, as well as comparable tests. Evaluates and interprets the results of tests ordered. Identifies problems and provides a diagnosis. Performs procedures within the scope of licensure and experience, as need dictates. Rechecks patient’s response to therapy and status in an appropriate time frame. Reports and explains the results of all testing to the patient and/or responsible family member. Consults with a physician by telephone, cell phone or other means for assistance with medical emergencies and makes specialist referrals as the patient’s condition or status indicates. Provides information and instruction for appropriate home care and preventative health care. Develops and maintains records of all patient contacts with attention to detail, legibility, and accuracy. Monitor patient conditions during treatments, procedures, or activities. Operate diagnostic imaging equipment Apply bandages, dressings, or splints. Immunize patients. Requirements Required Education and Certification Washington state licensure as a Registered Nurse, current and unrestricted. Current SLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS certifications or be able to obtain. Current CPR training and certification Documentation of 7 hours AIDS training Physical and Sensory Requirements Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
