ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you ready to take your perioperative nursing career to the next level in a growing and evolving environment? Join us at Orange Hospital, the major referral centre for Western NSW, where you’ll be part of a high-performing operating theatre team committed to delivering patient-centred care and driving innovation in rural health. It’s not often we have vacancies — however nurses who have grown their careers with us have advanced into senior roles in larger hospitals and others are now enjoying a well-earned retirement lifestyle. This is your chance!
With five operating theatres, a procedural room, and a 10-bay recovery unit, our department supports a wide range of surgical specialties including trauma, orthopaedics, upper GI, urology, ENT, obstetrics and gynaecology, and ophthalmology. As a Registered Nurse in our theatres, you’ll have the opportunity to rotate across subspecialties, access mentorship, and contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.
Why Join Us?
At Orange, we’re not just growing services — we’re building a culture of clinical excellence, leadership and lifelong learning. We offer:
A fast-track pathway to Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), with structured support through our clinical ladder learning model to support you to learn and grow at every stage of your career.
Opportunities to lead change — including roles in quality improvement, education, and research.
A highly supportive team, led by proactive leaders and Clinical Nurse Educator.
Protected time for CNSs to manage administrative duties, equipment oversight and staff development.
Flexible rostering, short commutes, and the chance to enjoy life in an affordable, beautiful, regional town known for its lifestyle and community.
Whether you’re an experienced perioperative nurse looking to shape the future of a growing service, to step into leadership, or are at an early stage in your career - this is your moment. Our team is has a shared vision of clinical excellence, mentorship, and continuity, and we’re looking for professionals who want to be part of something meaningful.
You’ll need to participate in a 7-day roster, including on-call shifts out of hours, and bring strong communication, attention to detail, and a team-focused mindset. Above all, we want someone who sees the bigger picture — inspiring others, lifting standards, and making rural health stronger.
Come and help us create a thriving, forward-thinking perioperative team – and build a career you’ll be proud of.
