ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you interested in working in a Multidisciplinary team within the drug and alcohol field? Then this role is for you. Join the WNSWLHD Drug and Alcohol teams in delivering high quality services to drug dependent clients.
The role is Monday to Friday: 0800-1630hrs, Weekends: 0800-1200hrs
Administration of schedule 8 medications, doing nursing assessments, and supporting clients with substance use. This includes brief counselling, telehealth, treatment planning, and working with other services for referrals and follow-up.
The team is professional, client-focused, and dedicated to providing quality care. There are eight team members in total.
Working with like-minded colleagues who are committed to delivering the best evidence-based care. The role also offers the benefit of scheduled appointments, allowing for structured and focused client care.
A typical day includes routine opioid administration, assisting with prescriber clinics, and processing prescriptions to forward to external dosing sites. Acacia Cottage supports clients from a broad area, including Wellington, Dubbo, and the northern corridor up to Lightning Ridge. The successful applicant will work closely with other registered nurses, the administration officer, the Nurse Unit Manager, doctors, nurse practitioners, and OTP prescribers.
