About our Health System Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is a 295 bed hospital located in Somerset, Kentucky, and is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to making communities healthier® with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities from coast to coast. Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required (current RN license License/Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult Department/Unit Summary Monday – Friday position, with limited weekend requirements. Limited call – one night call every other week, and one weekend call rotating through entire department(usually works out to be every 10-12 weeks). Phase 1 recovery – recover patient for 30 minutes to one hour (depending on type of anesthesia given), then send to Phase 2 and give hand off to another nurse. Position Summary Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Recovery/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Meets the physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of patients and families. Communicates effectively with all members of the healthcare team regarding changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present; may involve contact with patients, blood, body fluids, or specimens. Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
