Job Summary The RN-Pediatrics provides direct and indirect nursing care for pediatric patients from newborn through adolescence. This role includes comprehensive assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation in a family-centered care environment. The RN works collaboratively with the healthcare team and families to support optimal health outcomes for children while considering developmental, emotional, and cultural needs. Essential Functions Performs assessments and develops individualized plans of care for pediatric patients Administers medications, treatments, and performs clinical procedures Monitors patient conditions and communicates findings to the healthcare team Supports daily activities including nutrition, hygiene, ambulation, and elimination Provides age-appropriate education to patients and families Ensures accurate documentation of care in accordance with organizational standards Responds to and manages clinical emergencies effectively Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care and discharge planning Adheres to infection control, safety protocols, and ethical standards of care Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Demonstrated ability to provide developmentally appropriate care Critical thinking and sound clinical judgment under pressure Effective communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and colleagues Proficiency in electronic medical records and healthcare technologies Awareness of pediatric growth, development, and pain management Ability to function in a fast-paced, emotionally dynamic environment Maintains patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times Participates in quality improvement, continuing education, and team meetings Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred Licenses/Certifications Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the time frame specified in facility policy Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within the time frame specified in facility policy Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), preferred Experience Previous pediatric or neonatal nursing experience preferred 12-lead ECG, preferred
