Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital We are currently seeking casual Registered Nurses to join our Pre-Admission Clinic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient assessments and coordinating pre-operative care to ensure patients are well prepared for their procedures. You will also play a key role in patient education, documentation, and communication with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and efficient surgical planning. You will be involved in coordinating and supervising care delivered by junior staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of clinical practice and patient-centred care. The Position: The overseeing of total patient care. Being aware of all patient’s needs, conditions, and progress. Being in contact with patients throughout the shift. Ensuring all patient needs are met. Involving patients in their own care and decision making. Ensuring nursing care is carried out and documented using nursing history, care plans and / or care pathway. Ensuring medical treatment requests are carried out and documented properly, consulting with doctors if unclear. Ensuring that nursing activities are planned and carried out in an organised manner. Maintain & continue to improve technical skills such as the interpretation of ECG’s, insertion of intravenous cannula, chest pain management, & other skills relating to Critical Care. Ensuring all nursing procedures are carried out in a safe manner. Ensuring that the quality of work performed is of a high standard. You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and demonstrate ability to use initiative, reliability and work under minimal supervision and guidance. To succeed, you will bring relevant experience, sound clinical judgement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
