Your future role at a glance Location: Panama City, FL Facility: Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital Department: Preoperative Care Schedule: Day | Full-time | 8am - 4:30pm | Monday - Friday How you'll make an impact in this role Conduct comprehensive in-person and phone preoperative assessments to ensure patients are medically prepared and cleared for surgery. Implement and maintain sterile and safety standards to protect patients and support high-quality surgical care. Monitor patient responses to treatments and interventions to identify risks early and support safe surgical outcomes. Manage patient comfort and address concerns proactively by assessing pain, anxiety, and readiness for procedures. Anticipate patient and procedural needs by collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure efficient, well-coordinated surgical care. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or jobtransfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursingor current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior tohire date or job transfer date required. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time ofhire. What additional requirements you'll need Minimum 2 years of surgical services experience, with a strong familiarity across diverse surgical procedures.
