Under the direction of the Director, Department Manager, and supervisor the RN will assess, perform, document and evaluate professional independent nursing practice and perform related duties below: Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver Admits patient to the perioperative area, assess patient and prepares the patient for surgery/planned procedure Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia Effectively communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for their post- operative care after discharge Other duties as assigned Work schedule: This is a .625 FTE (50 hours/per pay period). This position will have 10-hour shifts (3:00 PM - 1:30 AM). Position includes every fourth weekend. One night holiday a year expected. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing Two (2) years of progressive care nursing experience in an acute hospital setting Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota BLS Certification upon hire ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire ICU experience STRONGLY preferred Benefits: Our benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, 401k with match, disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
